3-course dinner on the quay - A culinary experience by Refsvatnet

Fancy treating your colleagues to a “once in a lifetime” experience? A 3-course dinner on the pier is exactly that.

This is an evening where the team gathers around the campfire, prepares food together, and shares a meal by the water's edge as the sun sinks behind the mountains. At our Water Camp, you will, together with an experienced activity leader, prepare a 3-course dinner over an open fire at Preikestolen – before you sit down to eat at the pier with views over Refsvatnet, Basecamp, and the surrounding mountains.

You can choose to take the 20-minute walk along the water or paddle a canoe across. Whichever way you arrive, the experience begins long before the first course is served.

As a culinary experience in Rogaland, this stands out from most. No printed menus. No waiter with a notepad. Just the scent of food sizzling over the flames, laughter around the bonfire, and a colleague who suddenly proves to be surprisingly good with a knife.

For companies seeking a unique corporate dinner in the nature of Rogaland, this is an experience that combines food, collaboration, and nature in a way few other concepts do. This is also why it often becomes the highlight of longer corporate stays with us.

Guaranteed an evening you'll be talking about long after you're back at the office.

Imagine this

The day begins at Basecamp, where you can choose between following the 20-minute path along Refsvatnet or paddling a canoe together over to VannCamp. Whichever you choose, the experience begins on the way there. Shoulders drop, conversation flows more easily, and the pace of the city suddenly feels very far away.

When you arrive, our activity leader will be ready with the fire lit and the scene set. Tasks will be naturally distributed amongst the group. Some will chop vegetables, some will tend to the flames, and others will set the table outside on the jetty. Together, you will prepare a 3-course dinner over an open fire at Preikestolen, using good quality ingredients and a simple, authentic approach to cooking.
When the food is ready, you all head out onto the pier for the highlight of the day. The mountains loom against the sky, the sun hangs low over the water, and the team sits together around a meal you've actually made together.

It's precisely this transition – from collaborating around a campfire to a three-course meal on the pier – that makes the experience so memorable. Not just because the food tastes good, but because you created it together.

Who is dinner on the dock for?

This is an exclusive dining experience for businesses that desire an occasion worthy of a place in their memories, and there are few concepts like it. The experience is built around closeness, intimacy and the feeling of sharing something special together – and it is precisely this that makes the evening so memorable.

This is particularly suitable for:
• Management teams seeking an informal yet memorable setting for important discussions
• Departments that will mark a milestone or celebrate a successful project
• Managers, partners or collaborative teams who wish to build relationships in a different setting
• Companies that receive international guests and want to give them a distinct Norwegian experience
• A smaller kickoff where dinner will be the natural highlight of the evening

In short: a unique company dinner in nature in Rogaland for groups who want more than just a restaurant visit. Here, the experience itself becomes part of the conversation – long after the last course has been served.

How does a 3-course dinner on the pier work as a team-building activity?

Many wonder how a 3-course dinner on the pier functions as a team-building activity, and the answer lies in how the day is structured.

First, you will walk or paddle together down to VannCampen (Water Camp). Then, tasks around the campfire will be distributed, before the day concludes together on the jetty with a plate in hand and the mountains as a backdrop.

Throughout the process, the group must collaborate well. The timing needs to be right, ingredients handled correctly, embers tended to, and someone must take responsibility when the onions need chopping or the next dish is ready for heating. It never feels like a forced exercise – and that's precisely why it works so well.

The best team-building is often that which doesn't feel like team-building at all, but just like a really great experience you create together.
