I have genuinely never experienced better customer service, friendliness, and a solution-oriented approach before! The entire process, from the initial request to the completion of the course, was characterised by goodwill, flexibility, and personal follow-up. The stay itself was absolutely magical, and the food was fantastic. If it had been possible to give 6 stars – they would have received them!
Staying at Hikers Nest at the base camp by the water was a fun experience. Impeccable service and pleasant staff. Scenic surroundings and many activities to choose from in addition to mountain hikes. Clean and tidy both on the grounds and inside. With access to a fridge, freezer, firewood, and a fire pit, we had a wonderful time. The evening was spent in front of the fire pit, lacking insect repellent. We woke up to a good breakfast before heading to Preikestolen.
If you want to visit Preikestolen and would also like to make the whole experience much more enjoyable (almost a touch of luxury), spending a night here is absolutely brilliant. Or two nights, as we did. That way, you can arrive the day before you’re due to set off, enjoy a good dinner and a few glasses of wine before settling into a spacious room with an en-suite bathroom (and shower), and then get a good night’s sleep. Because you’re actually staying there the night before your hike, it’s much easier to decide when to set off (you can take the weather and group size into account). Once the hike is over, you can once again enjoy a two-course dinner – with a few glasses of wine – before turning in for the night.
Cosy and new mountain lodge with friendly service. Delicious food and nice rooms. Great hikes in the area where you can subsequently eat well and enjoy yourselves in a pleasant atmosphere. Reasonably priced for a whole family. And a good place to hold celebrations.
Impressively good food. I've eaten a lot of good food at Norwegian DNT cabins - but never anything like this! Striking architecture and good rooms. Unparalleled location and views. Despite its location in the middle of one of Norway's most visited natural wonders with well over 200,000 visitors annually, it was surprising to find such a good place to stay. I've been here for three days for a conference - a good place to think and work.
Located at the top of Fjellstua with panoramic views of water, forest, and mountains. Seats 30 people. Modern AV equipment.
