Refså Meeting Room – Conference room at Preikestolen BaseCamp with space for 50

Our Refså meeting room is located in the basement of the historic Preikestolhytta, which was built in 1949. Refså is our largest meeting room, with space for up to 50 people.

If you would like something special for your next course or conference gathering, this is a place offering a unique combination of history, tranquility, and spaciousness. Here you will be seated in a building with soul, surrounded by Norwegian nature on all sides.

The meeting room was refurbished in 2024 and offers a lovely view of Refsvatnet lake and the surrounding mountains. The meeting room is equipped with all the necessary AV solutions required for a successful gathering.

The room is well-suited for everything from full-day courses to strategy meetings where both space and focus are required.

In addition, you have access to a large and pleasant lounge with a fireplace on the floor above, which can be used for group work or informal breaks.

This flexibility makes the conference room a natural choice for those who want to combine professional focus with unique experiences.

What can you expect from a meeting at Refså?

A meeting in Refså often starts calmly. The view over Refsvatnet provides the head with a little breathing space before the meeting agenda gets underway – and there's little to steal your attention out here, apart from the surrounding nature.

The room is equipped with what you would expect from a modern meeting room: a large flat-screen TV, camera, and audio. However, it's the context that makes the experience different:

During the breaks, you can have a coffee in the sun trap, a walk in the mountains, or simply sit on a bench and let your thoughts wander.

A stone's throw away, you'll also find the Dining Room, where locally sourced food and a culinary experience await.

In short: When everything is just right, from the meeting room to the surrounding environment, it quickly becomes more than just a meeting. It becomes an experience that builds both focus and unity.

For those wishing to hire a meeting room in the heart of nature, Refså is a place where nature and business go hand in hand, whether you are coming for a single meeting or as part of a larger conference package.

Can RefSpot be used for both small team meetings and larger gatherings?

Yes – that's precisely what makes Refså so flexible. With space for up to 50 people, it works well for everything from department gatherings and kick-offs to full-day conferences. At the same time, it's equally suitable for smaller management teams who need peace, focus, and a good setting for discussions.

In addition, the fireplace lounge on the floor above can be used as a natural breakout room. Here you can easily divide yourselves into smaller groups for workshops or group work – without having to deal with multiple different locations.

With nature right outside your door, you'll find a different rhythm to your day. It's easy to switch between focused work inside and a short break outside – whether it's a walk in the fresh air or just a few minutes to clear your head. It's often in this balance that the best ideas emerge.

Whether you're planning a strategy day for a smaller team or a larger gathering of activities, the programme will be tailored to suit you.

If you need a smaller, more intimate room, you can also consider Meeting room Fireplace lounge in our architect-designed mountain lodge – perfect for groupsis for up to 25 people.

Combine Refså with activities and accommodation

One of the things that really elevates a meeting here is what happens between sessions. After a productive day in the meeting room, you can head straight out into nature for a mountain hike, a canoeing trip on Refsvatnet, or gather in the sauna.

For groups wanting more than a one-day conference, we can arrange a package including accommodation at Fjellstua or Preikestolen Mountain Lodge, memorable meals in the restaurant, and team-building activities tailored to the group. When everything connects, from the professional content to the experiences, it becomes something entirely different from a standard conference hotel.

Because something special is happening out here, where nature and business meet.

For those who want to combine good meetings with nature experiences, this is one way to do it – right in Rogaland, with both peace and activity right outside the door.
