Pilt ola festival 10-11 May

10-11. May is full of activity at Preikestolen BaseCamp
Are you ready for your first family adventure of the summer?
We invite you to join us for the Pilt-Ola game - a unique event filled with history, experiences and activities for the whole family!
Experience the fascinating story of Ole Olsen Songesand, better known as Pilt-Ola - a true adventurer, trader, inventor and peddler from the Lysefjord. The game takes you into a piece of Norwegian cultural history, brought to life on the stage where the adventure began.

Around the area you'll find stalls and activities to make your visit even richer:

Craft operators

For those who love real crafts! Explore knitting, embroidery, knives, spells and handmade kitchen utensils

Honey from Ryfylke

Taste your way through delicious honey products made by passionate beekeeper Bjørn Larsen.

The Forsand stand

Here you'll find unique knitwear and handicraft products, perfect as souvenirs or gifts.

Activities for young and old

Test your strength in milk pail holding or challenge your family to a horseshoe toss! There will also be exciting storytelling sessions about Pilt-Ola's incredible life.

Funfact: Did you know that Pilt-Ola once travelled all the way to Finnmark - on foot - to buy reindeer? The animals he brought back to Ryfylke may be the origin of the wild reindeer population in Setesdal-Ryfylke today.
Bring the whole family and join us on a different kind of adventure - right in the backyard of a true Norwegian hero. We look forward to seeing you
